OBITUARY: Sandra ‘Granny’ Jo Irby

Sandra “Granny” Jo Irby, age 76 of Ashland City, TN passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2022, at Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital Midtown in Nashville, TN surrounded by her family.

Sandra was born on June 18, 1946, in St. Petersburg, FL to the late Randell Clayton Widner and Mary Elizabeth Joyner.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Scott Anthony Branham; brother, Randell Widner, Jr.; one grandchild, Samantha and 2 great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters: Sherri (Samantha) Dill, Sheryl Branham, Stephine (Jesse) Bishop, Stacy Felix, Susan Branham, and Shellie (Ronnie) Willers; 27 grandchildren: Melissa Jo, Scott, Monique, Hannah, Steven, Kaleb, Aubrie, Landon, Bentley, Haylie, Darian, Jesse, Ariel, James, Jessica, Kimberly, Kristina, Dylan, Jasmine, Emily, Ashlee, Trenton, Bella, Kari, Patty, Jennifer, and Amy; 35 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Sandra had a sassy personality, in which one of her favorite sayings was” Are you Sh*!!in me”. She loved NCIS, Jack Hanna, her computer, card games, her pets, classic rock, and most of all her family, especially her grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at the chapel of Boyd Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, from 12:00 PM until the hour of service.
