Steve T. Krause, aged 63, of Ashland City, TN formerly of Monee, IL, passed away on June 17, 2026 surrounded by his loved ones.
Steve proudly served as a Marine and built a successful career as an accomplished project manager. He was known for his strong work ethic, humor, and unwavering dedication to those he loved.
Steve found such joy in the simple things in life-sitting by a fire, spending time outdoors, fishing, firing up the grill, and sharing laughs through his pranks. He loved his family deeply and cherished every moment spent with them. Among his greatest companions was his sweet pup, Wilma, who he never went anywhere without.
Steve was preceded in death by his father, Steve A. Krause and stepfather, Robert Maurer.
He is survived by his mother, Linda Maurer; his sister, Laurie VanLyuk; his brother, Tim Krause (Audrey Lind); his son, Stephen Krause; his daughter, Kathryn Utermark (William Utermark); his stepdaughter, Lauren Billings (Brian Billings); Arness Krause with whom he shared many years with raising their children; and 7 wonderful grandchildren.
Steve will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at Larkspur Conservation. A celebration of life for family and friends will be held at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Working Dogs for Vets, a Tennessee nonprofit or Larkspur Conservation to continue their preservation journey.
Steve’s strength, humor, kindness, and loyalty for his family will be remembered always. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Once a Marine, always a Marine. Ooh-Rah!
