William “Bill” Lee Altom, age 91 of Pleasant View, Tennessee, preceded his wife in death on Thursday, August 18, 2022. His wife, Ivy Elizabeth Altom, age 87, followed him in death on Saturday, August 20th.
Mr. Altom was born on August 29, 1930, in Henderson County, Tennessee, to the late William and Ollie Gooch Altom. He was retired from NES and was a veteran of the United States Army having served in the Korean War. He loved gardening & yardwork, dark honey, and most especially his children and grandchildren.
Mrs. Altom was born on September 1, 1934, in Carroll County, Tennessee, to the late Clyde and Mable Wiles Kelley. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Altom loved her children and grandchildren dearly, loved cooking for her family, and looked forward to getting ready for dates with her husband, Bill.
Mr. and Mrs. Altom were married for 66 years and both were of the Church of Christ faith.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Altom is preceded in death by his sisters, Brooksie & Virginia; and his grandson, Jason.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Altom is preceded in death by her grandson, Jason; sisters, Dorothy and Dorothea; and brothers, Roy and Lloyd.
Survivors include son, Langdon (Shenia) Altom; daughters, Elizabeth (Chubby) Brinkley and Sondra (Troy) Everett; grandchildren, Ashlee, LA, Gabe, Jacob, and Laurel; great-grandchildren, Tyson, Gabby, Amalee, Gibson, Carter, LuLu, and Trent; great-great-grandchild, Ellie.
There will be a private family service. Burial will be in Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery.
There will be no public visitation.
If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to either the Cheatham County Veterans Memorial, 162 John Mayfield Drive, Ashland City, Tennessee 37015, or a charity of one’s choice.
