An unusual animal sighting caused a stir in the Joelton area earlier this week after an oryx was seen running near a roadway during the morning commute, WSMV reports.
The antelope, which is native to Africa, was spotted near Old Marrowbone Road across from Beaman Park.
A witness told WSMV he was driving to work when he had to quickly brake to avoid hitting the animal as it darted into traffic. After sharing photos he took of the animal on social media, several people commented on the post saying they had also seen the oryx.
It is believes it may have escaped from a nearby exotic animal farm.
At this time, it is not clear whether the animal has since been located.
