The Town of Pegram hosts its 49th annual Independence Day Celebration on Friday, July 4, with the theme “Stars, Stripes & Pegram Southern Nights.” This year’s Grand Marshals, Skip and Dr. Cathy Beck, will lead the beloved parade at 10 am, honoring their decades of dedication and service to the community.
Festivities kick off bright and early with a pancake breakfast from 7 to 9 am at Pegram United Methodist Church, followed by the parade lineup. Afterward, the Pegram Community Club hosts its traditional barbecue lunch at 11 am. Opening ceremonies at noon at Field 2 will include a welcome from Mayor Charles Morehead, a salute to the parade winners, invocation, national anthem, and pledge.
Throughout the afternoon, visitors can enjoy festival rides, face painting, a photo booth, kids sack races, cornhole, bingo, baby and Miss Pegram pageants, a tug of war, hula hoop contest, and two local ballgames featuring Little League coaches and Harpeth alumni.
Live music begins at 4:30 pm with the Muscle Shoals Musicians Band, followed by Livin’ the Dream Band at 6:30 pm, all building up to a fireworks show at 9:30 pm.
All events take place at Pegram City Park and surrounding venues. Residents and guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, wear their red, white, and blue, and enjoy a full day of community fun and patriotic spirit.
