Not too long ago, Butch Quinn was an executive in a technology company making stained glass on the side. After retiring, he decided to turn his hobby into a business, Quinn’s Stained Glass Repair and Restoration in Ashland City. Now, he and his staff repair, restore and make new stained glass pieces in and around the Nashville area.

From vintage Tiffany-style stained glass lamps with crumbling soldering to cracked leaded glass, Quinn and his team are detailed, attentive, and they make sure that everything is done right the first time. They work on doors, windows, light fixtures, suncatchers and more.

“[Repairing] lampshades can get real complicated, real quick,” explained Quinn on Instagram.

They have worked in many different styles, from Arts and Crafts to Art Deco to totally modern pieces, like a hot dog shaped suncatcher. After the Nashville tornados, they repaired some of the beautiful stained glass windows in homes in East Nashville.

“We want our work to look better than it did before it was damaged,” said Quinn online. “Our glaziers have installed windows on homes, churches, and other businesses for more than five years. We have even added lead glass over garden bathtubs.”

When one owner had an accident while painting their home, taking out a large section of the top of one stained glass window, Quinn was able to make the window look like new.

Unlike their competitors, Quinn’s Stained Glass works with owners of both new and older homes, businesses and organizations. Not only do they restore and repair, but they can also create new architectural pieces like doors and transoms, as well as making amazing glass art pieces that are functional and decorative. Including creating one-of-a-kind holiday pieces, such as Saint Nicholas window.

During the holidays, Quinn gets a lot of children peering at him with a feeling of recognition because he looks so much like the Saint Nicholas window he created. “The Tennessean” even did a story about him, calling him the Santa of stained glass.

They are rated as one of the top stained glass repair businesses in the Nashville area according to Google.

Quinns’ Stained Glass Repair and Restoration is located at 1014 Eastside Road in Ashland City, Tennessee. Their website can be found here.
