According to MNPD, the shooting happened outside Eddie’s Hardware Market & Deli on Highway 70 in Davidson County. No one was injured.

The preliminary investigation found that Cheatham County deputies were searching for 57-year-old Mark Boone, who was wanted on outstanding warrants. A deputy received information that Boone was at the market and arrived just after 4 p.m., parking behind Boone’s Jeep Compass.

Police said the deputy approached the passenger side of the SUV and ordered Boone to get out. Instead, Boone allegedly ignored the commands, put the Jeep in drive, turned sharply and accelerated. As the deputy stepped back from the vehicle, the deputy fired one shot, hitting the Jeep’s rear passenger-side tire.

Boone continued driving east on Highway 70 with the deputy in pursuit. He eventually stopped at a Wendy’s on Highway 70, where police said he ran across the street before being taken into custody.

Boone was transported to the Dickson County Jail on the outstanding warrants. Additional charges related to Wednesday’s incident in Davidson County are expected.
