Harpeth River State Park will host a free Star Party on Friday, May 24, offering visitors a chance to explore the night sky through telescopes with guidance from local astronomy enthusiasts. The event will take place from 8:30 PM to 10:30 PM at the Hidden Lake parking lot, located at 7851 McCrory Lane in Nashville.
Organized in partnership with the Nashville Astronomy Club, the evening will feature multiple telescopes set up for public use. Guests are encouraged to bring their own telescopes if they have one, or simply enjoy the views through those provided. Whether you’re a seasoned stargazer or just curious about the cosmos, everyone is welcome.
In addition to star viewing, Ranger Lisa from Tennessee State Parks will share information about the nocturnal wildlife active in the area after dark.
Admission is free, but attendees should note that parking is limited. Visitors are encouraged to arrive early, bring a flashlight, and come prepared for an evening of stargazing and learning under the open sky.
