An investigation is underway after a boy reportedly shot a teenager in Ashland City on June 7, 2023, according to WKRN.
When deputies responded to the shooting in the 2000 block of Bearwallow Road, they located a 17-year-old boy who had been shot in the abdomen.
During the investigation, police say the victim was alert and able to communicate with authorities.
It was later determined that an 8-year-old boy shot the teenager inside a vehicle at the location.
The Cheatham County Sheriff’s Office stated the shooting was accidental. However, the investigation remains ongoing.
