February 10, 2025 – A toy gun discovered in a restroom at Sycamore High School prompted swift action from school staff on Monday morning, according to Principal Dawn Wenning.
The item, which was quickly determined to be non-threatening, was confiscated immediately. No additional information was released on the student’s suspension and/or possible arrest.
While there was no real danger, Wenning emphasized the seriousness of the situation and reiterated the school’s commitment to maintaining a safe learning environment.
“Bringing any kind of weapon, including play guns, to school is strictly prohibited,” Wenning stated. “Such items can cause unnecessary panic and disruption.”
