If you live in District Three and are interested in joining the Cheatham County School Board, you are encouraged to submit a request to help fill a vacancy.
School Board member Tim Ray is moving out of state to Kentucky and has resigned from his position effective May 25.
District Three includes the Pleasant View area.
Anyone wishing to be considered to fill this vacancy should submit in writing their request to the Cheatham County Clerk, 354 Frey St., Suite F, Ashland City, TN 37015, by Monday, June 19 at 4 p.m.
The Cheatham County Commission will appoint an interim School Board member in District Three at its Monday, June 26 meeting. The individual selected will serve until August 2024.
The Cheatham County School Board is composed of six elected members, who serve staggered four-year terms.
Meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. (except January). The board also holds a workshop on the Thursday before the monthly meeting. The workshop begins at 6 p.m.
