Nashville International Airport will celebrate its new nonstop service to Guadalajara, Mexico, on Thursday, Oct. 22, following the route’s inaugural flight last week.
The new route marks both a new international destination and a new airline at BNA, expanding travel options for Middle Tennessee travelers. Volaris began operating the flights on Oct. 15.
The new route connects Nashville with Guadalajara, one of Mexico’s major cultural and economic centers. Travelers can also connect through Volaris’ Guadalajara hub to destinations across Mexico and beyond.
The Nashville route is one of three new U.S. routes announced by Volaris, along with flights to Boston and Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina. The airline also offers service from Guadalajara to Atlanta and Washington Dulles.
The expansion will make Guadalajara the airline’s largest hub, with service to more than 65 destinations and more than 100 daily flights, according to the company.
Volaris said introductory fares on the new international routes start at $90.
The airport will host a celebration at Gate T3 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, featuring remarks from airport, airline and community leaders, a ribbon-cutting, music and activities for arriving and departing passengers.
Expected guests include Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell, Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority President and CEO Doug Kreulen, Volaris Regional Head of Sales and Market Development for the Central U.S. Jayro Suárez and Nashville Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Yuri Cunza.
