Janet Faye (Bracey) Atkinson, Jan, as she was called by her family and friends, age 62, left this life on December 29, 2021 at TriStar Centennial Hospital in Nashville TN.
She was born in Ashland City on March 22, 1959, to John Wayne and Lura Dean (Perry) Bracey. She was one of six children.
Mrs. Atkinson was married for 41 years to Larry Atkinson. She retired from the Cheatham County Board of Education, where she worked for 25 years as a cafeteria worker and was lovingly known as “Little Mama”.
She was preceded in death by her grandparent, B.F. and Louise Perry and Felix and Lula Mabel Bracey, her parents, two brothers, David Bracey and Michael Bracey.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Atkinson, sons, Jonathan (Leah)Atkinson, Wayne (Tina) Atkinson, Andrew Atkinson, brothers, Dean (Carol) Bracey, Perry (Kim) Bracey, sister, Debbie Wilbur, 3 grandchildren, Magen, Landon, Coraline, and two sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Visitation and funeral for Mrs. Atkinson will be held on Monday, January 03, 2022. Visitation will be from 10 am until 1 pm and the funeral will begin at 1 pm. She will be interred at Bethlehem Cemetery in Ashland City following the funeral service. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the Sarah Cannon Cancer Center (https://sarahcannon.com/).
