Grace Marie Lyons, age 83 of Chapmansboro, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, November 6, 2021 at her daughter’s home in Crossville.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church, 2204 Jarrell Ridge Rd, Clarksville, Tennessee at 12:00PM on Saturday, November 13th, with Bro. John Richardson officiating. Mac Brown, Brandon Brown, Mark Slezak, Eddie Slezak, Mel Besher, and Emery Besher will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday, from 10:00 AM until the hour of service at 12:00 PM.
Mrs. Lyons was born on August 11, 1938 in Marquand, Missouri to the late John & Effie Gromer Besher. Grace worked many different jobs and loved to care for others. She loved to travel and especially enjoyed seeing God’s creation. Spring flowers brought her joy and she also loved the colors of Fall. Her love of music started as a small child and extended to the end of her life. She especially loved southern gospel, bluegrass, and classic country music. To say that she loved her family would be an understatement. If anyone was in need she would show up at the door with a smile and a giving heart. She attended Mt. Hermon Baptist Church of Clarksville as well as Central Baptist Church of Crossville. Her love for the Lord radiated from her soul even when her memory faded.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jay Lyons; siblings, Dolly “Faye” Theise, Raymond Besher, Melvin “PeeWee” Besher; grandson, Austin J.W. Adams; granddaughter, Jessica D. Slezak; and nephew, Dusty Besher.
She is survived by her children, Glenda (Mac) Brown, Eddie (Sherry) Slezak, Ricky (Debbie) Slezak, Mark (Cindy) Slezak, and Misty (Robert) Adams; grandchildren, Tiffany (Joshua) Heavener, Brittany Lewis, Brandon Brown, Nikki (Matt) Pavlick, Laura (Zach) Swarr, Brie (Trent) Crews, Courtney Schaeffler, Brian Slezak, Marlita (Brandon) Davis, Brandon Bellar, Bethany (Jonathan) Bratcher, Dakota Thrash-Slezak, Dillon Adams; twenty-one great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
