Harland “Doc” Hunt Shearron, age 96, of Ashland City, Tennessee, passed away in Nashville, Tennessee, on Monday, February 27, 2023.
He was born in Cheatham County, Tennessee, on September 14, 1926, to the late Sterling Shearron and Essie (Hunt) Shearron.
He was a member of the Neptune Clifton United Methodist Church. He worked in the heavy construction industry for W. L. Hailey in maintenance.
Harland is preceded in death by his wife, Darlene Shearron; and sister, Iris Shearron Albright (William E.).
He is survived by his nieces, Cathy Turner (Tim) and Billie Jayroe (Tom); great-nieces, Julie Pillow and Courtney Jayroe; and great-nephews, Brian Turner (Krissy) and Blake Jayroe (Lauren).
Funeral service will be Friday, March 3, 2023, at 1 pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Will Smith Cemetery in Ashland City, Tennessee. Visitation will be Thursday, March 2, 2023, from 4 pm to 6 pm and Friday, March 3, 2023, from 11 am until the service hour of 1 pm. Serving as pallbearers will be Tom Jayroe, Tim Turner, Brian Turner, Will Turner, Danny Stack, and Larry Perry. Honorary pallbearers will be Trish and Phillip Hunter.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Henry F. Batts, Jr., Estate.
