Paul-Howard-Presson

In memory of Paul Howard Presson, One of the toughest men we know has left this earthly realm to receive his crown of glory from the Lord who created him and created through him an extraordinary family of believers. He was known by many names. He was Pappy to most, daddy to us, and a wonderful grandfather to so, so many loving grandchildren and even a small number of great-grandchildren.

He was the “backhoe man” to many in whichever community he was in and widely known from the east coast to the west coast for being the best backhoe operator they had ever encountered. Daddy was a philosopher and a poet who searched for the Lord in any and every situation he came upon and the first one to share his knowledge of what God has done for him and his family as well as what God could do for all he spoke with.

He was born in Bruceton, Tennessee, on September 12, 1943.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry Thurman Presson and Cuba Pauline (Fowler) Presson; daughter, Deborah Presson Hardy and her husband, Randall Hardy; son-in-law, Paul Harris; grandson, Joshua Harris; and great-granddaughter, Nora Jane Presson.

He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda (Davis) Presson; son, Paul Presson (Vicki); daughters, Paula Harris (Tim Rittenberry), Jenny Chandler (Chip), and Mandy Terrell (David); 25 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and 1 great grandson on the way.

He peacefully passed through the veil of heaven the morning of Friday, March 1, 2024, around 6:30 am with his children and wife right there with him.

We love you Pappy and will miss you so much, but wouldn’t want you to trade the glory you are sharing now with those we have lost before to be back with us and endure the pain that plagued your earthly body.
Enter in to your great reward daddy, we love you!

Funeral service will be Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at 2 pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Brother Phillip McGahey officiating. Visitation will be the same day from 10 am until the service hour of 2 pm.
